Gallbladder Long Gone - Aug 2012

Well as I mentioned in my last post, I had surgery a couple of days ago and I thought I would scrap it.  Of course I do not have actual photos of my non-functioning gallbladder (YUCK!!!).  So I did the next best thing.  I went and googled a photo.  All the paper is from Micheals Recollection collection ( Bold Basics patterned paper and Soda Pop).  I could not get into the CCR today because they are having issues with the site so I decided to use my Thickers that I purchased from Archiver's several weeks back and it worked really nicely on the page (chocolate in color).  The journaling I did through Microsoft word and just did a simple text box at 3x7.  I had a lot to say on the procedure and I knew my chunky handwriting would not allow me to make it all fit in such a little space.  I love the colors.  I had a hard time matching the folder but when I finally came across the paper (I have lots of paper packs) it really fell into plac...

A Follow-up for being gone for so long

It has been a while since I have posted. It has been even longer since I have even scrapped or created a project. I took some leave this week and worked on some items. I have had very little creativity of late and it had bothered me a bit. So I have stuck a pin in my bum and got the juices a going. I plan on getting back into entering some challenges but I have deicided to wait a few eeks on that since I do not want to discourage myself. I am not very seasoned and I think that planyed a big part in my not enjoying my hobby. My hubby has been at the SNCOA for a while so when he returns I plan on going to a crop at least once a month up at Archiver's just to have some "me " time. I had a lot of fun last time I did it. I am also saving to but myself an all-in-one apple desktop computer. I have really wanted one for a while so I hope to have the money by this summer so in the meantime I am getting the scrap space ready. I plan on postin...

Belated Thanksgiving layout

On this page I decided to do a 8.5x11 page.  The cardstock is rip avacado by papertrey ink, ribbon from micheal's, We R Memory Keeper's 6x6 Autumn Splendor paper pack, micheal's 3D thanksgiving phrase (118507) and Inkssentials opaque white pen.  Again and easy simple layout.  The "happy thanksgiving" 3D sticker I have had for almost 2 years (I dont buy stickers anymore since I have cricut machines).  The ribbon went really well with the layout.  I have taken Tim Holtzs and Creations with Christina's advice about buying white ribbon and coloring it to match your layouts so I am trying to use all of my designer ribbon stash.  I really like using the Tim Holtzs stains to color my ribbon.  It works out so well and I have about half of the colors so I can match almost any color for my layouts.  I hand wrote on the page again.  I'm really liking this concept.  I think I got the idea from Stacy Jullian.  I have to make sure that I leave ...

HALLOWEEN 2011

Halloween 2011 This was a fun layout.  I used bazzil deep red 8.5x11 cardstock, martha stewart vinyl spider, martha stewart dippy dew, picket fence and bat punches.  Used the gypsy and cricut cartridge simply charmed pages 58 and 59 for the "R.I.P, bat and tree" and used the gypsy font for "halloween".  I kept it simple so the whole layout took about an hour to the cuts correct.  I used stamps of life for the "R.I.P".
