Cardmaker's Right's

As a cardmaker, you are entitled (but not limited) to the following rights:
  • You have the right to take as long as you want to complete one handmade card. This may be five minutes or two weeks.
  • You have the right to send a card for no other reason than to show off your new stamp, embellishment or technique.
  • You have the right to create a fabulous card for your husband, partner or roommate – just because you know it will stay in your house.
  • You have the right to spread your cardmaking things out all over, just to admire them.
  • You have the right to purchase a certain cardmaking item for no other reason than because a) you like it; b) you think it's cute; c) you'll never find it again, or; d) you know you'll use it someday.
  • You have the right to reserve using your most precious supplies on cards only for recipients who will truly appreciate them.
  • You have the right to a workspace of your own. This may be the basement, your college student's old bedroom or the kitchen table.
  • You have the right to make cards when inspiration strikes – whether the dishes are done or not.
  • You have the right to request peaceful, kid-free, stress-less cardmaking time - guilt-free.
  • You have the right to let the handmade card be the gift, too.
  • You have the right to value your personal style.
  • You are creating a treasure - and part of that treasure is you.

Cricut Imagine "Birthday" card

Again disregard the photo, I truely need to figure how to take better pictures.  I used the cricut Imagine more cards cartridge.  I pop dotted the little birdie and the light blue background.  Again I kept the inside very simple birthday message.  Goal is to add more detail to my cards.  Probably could have added ribbon and some stickles to the card.  Granted it took only a total of 10 minutes to complete since I had to place it in the mail.

Cricut Imagine " Thank you" card

My picture taking qualities could definately be a little better.  I created this card from the cricut Imagine More Card cartridge.  I used white paper and used the colors from off the cartridge.  The card is from Micheals dollar bin not thick cardstock but it does the trick.  I used my imagine and it went very quickly.  The longest part is just picking what design, color and size.  I used the cricut handbook from Above Rubies Studio http://www.aboverubiesstudio.com/    and it helped a great deal.  I highly recommend you download the free copy from their website.  The card size is 5x5, cricut size used was 4.5 all details automatically adjusted by the Imagine machine. The "thanks" and the coffee cup were pop dotted up.  The inside I kept real simple.

A birthday Card for Dad

This card was for my father's birthday.  I used my cricut imagine, maurvy punch, copic markers and clear stamp.  It really turned out well.  I just love my copic markers and my Imagine cutter.  Both are expensive but well worth it.  I have been doing cards for a while and still need to work on better presentation.  My cards are still pretty basic and I am working on getting them to look more professional.  My goal is to post as many of my cards as I can and I am thinking of entering them into contests to try and win some free scrapbook stuff.ard was for my father's birthday. My goal is to post as many of my cards as I can and I am thinking of entering them into contests to try and win some free scrapbook stuff.

Birthday cards for my Sister-in-Laws

I used the cricut cartridge "Forever Young" .  I so love this because you can do awesome layering and blackouts as well.  This is just a small taste of what you can do with this cartridge.  I also used my Cricut Imagine to cut and print.  The stamps are from Stamps For Life that I subscribe and get new ones every month.
