Hand-made Note Cards

These are the handmade note cards I made that went into the tins I created (look at previous post same day).  I stuck mainly with "thanks" and "happy Birthday" since I knew those get used the most on a daily basis.  I left the inside of the cards blank( all cards are from Micheal's recollections).  The "cupcakes" and "thanks a latte" I made using my Cricut Imagine.  The stamps were colored with copic markers using GinaK heavy weight white cardstock.  It is great for copic marker coloring since it is a 120lb weight.  The stickers are various ones that I have had for several years.  Since I bought my Cricut and I am really into stamps, I don't use or buy stickers anymore.  So I have a large collection that I am trying to use in my projects. The labels I made with my Gypsy cut out on the Imagine.  They are stock shapes that come with the Imagine.  Border punch is from Fiskars.  I love using that one because it is easy to use.  The stamps "happy birthday, thanks and thank you"are from "Stamps of Life".  I hope my Mom and Mother-in-law like them.  I took a week to make 40 cards.  The envelopes I bought from Office Depot" simple A2 envelope.

A Mother's Day GIft

This year I decided to do hand-made gifts.  For the card, I tried a technique that I learned from a class at Archiver's.  I used white embossing powder with Versamark dazzle embossing ink.  I used copic markers to color the image.  The stamp is from Hero Arts.  The white tin I got from Micheal's.  The flowers I have had for the last 6 years that I bought from Walmart.  I embossed the "for out mom" and bought the frame from Micheal's as well.  I used Kleen's spray adhesive to secure the paper to the tin.  I took about a half a day to make two of these.  One for each mother.  In the next posting I will show what went inside of the tin.

Monday Update

Last week was a little crazy.  We had a huge Air Show at my base and I had to work all weekend.  I did get in a little scrappin - one birthday card--two mother's day cards--two Easter cards.  I will upload all real soon.  Looking to buy a couple of Cricut cartridges but I am looking for a good deal.  It is very overwhelming.  There are a ton of carts between the lites, the ones at walmart, regular cricut and imagine.  Too many choices.

Sunday Update - Top 5 tools

Well it is almost Mother's Day, so I am working on a handmade gift.  Plus I am trying to pull together Easter baskets as well as coming up with a cool birthday card for my oldest who will turn 10 years old soon.  I am giving my Cricut Imagine a serious workout.  My top 5 tools that I own that I love are:

1. Cricut Imagine
2. Gypsy
3. Fiskars 12 inch trimmer
4. cuttlebug
5. Crop-a-dile

From week-to-week the order may change but the tools stay the same.  Now I love buying new items and tools because I am a scrapshopaholic but these are may staples.  Stay tuned, I will upload some of my projects this week.

Sunday Update

I have been busy scrapping.  I will upload a few later this week.  I recently purchased a "clip it up" and I so love it.  Of course I am also a craftshopaholic...so I have quite a few clear stamps.  I subscribe to Stamps of Life and I just recently purchased from My Creative Time "My Mom Rock" stamp set. Below I have listed my Top 5 stamps:

1. Stamps for Life
2. Hero Arts
3. My Pink Stamper
4. Inkadinkado
5. My Creative Time and Peachy Keen

I use these stamps often when I am cardmaking.  I buy a lot of different stamps for what I may be doing at that time.  I like how the stamps from Stamps for Life allow you to do the two stamp method.  I love Hero Arts unique designs and they are great for using when embossing.  My Pink Stamper and My Creative Time have great saying that fit any situation and works with all cricut cartridges.  I definitely lean more towards using stamps to make my cards.  Since buying the Imagine, I have been using it more and more.  I am currently looking to purchase a couple more of Imagine cartridges.  Not sure which ones except for I really want the "Best Friends" because I have girls.  I want to add more masculine items since I am lacking in this area.  So I have gotten really interested in Tim Holtz's stamps.  If you have any suggestions for cart's send them  my way.....
